Inside Story with Lucinda

with Jeremy Seal Author of A Coup in Turkey

21 January 2022

What better way to begin the new year than of dreaming about travel? At a time when many of us long to travel, we have decided to help our Goldster members pretend to be on holiday, as Lucinda Hawksley chats to travel writer, Jeremy Seal.

Jeremy is the author of six works of non-fiction, including three books about Turkey: A Fez of the Heart (1995); Meander (2012); and his latest, A Coup in Turkey (2021). His other books include Nicholas, The Epic Journey from Saint to Santa Claus (2005); The Snakebite Survivors’ Club (1999), for which he sought out deadly snakes all over the world; and The Wreck at Sharpnose Point (2002), about a real-life Cornish mystery.

Most of Jeremy’s work is often focused on Turkey, where he has travelled extensively for more than three decades. He also teaches travel writing – including courses at the University of Cambridge – and he leads cultural tours, mostly in Turkey. To find out more about his work, check out his website at www.somewherewonderful.com/tours.

Join Jeremy as he chats to Goldster Book Club presenter Lucinda Hawksley at midday on 21 January 2022. Whether you’re missing travelling / have already booked a holiday / are feeling too scared to travel at the moment, then bring your questions along and see how someone who works within the travel sector is feeling about it. Above all, you will be able to travel vicariously with Jeremy during this special Inside Story, designed to cheer up a cold, grey January!
